| | | Famjin is well situated on the west coast of Suðuroy and offers a spectacular vista of sea and mountain, especially at sunset. The walking tour to Famjin sets off from the old coal mine at Trongisvágur. We follow the old path around Oyrnafjall and pass by the beautiful lake of Kirkjuvatn, which is nestled in the mountains above Famjin. In Famjin, we will visit the church, which holds a special place in the hearts of the Faroese people. A young student from Famjin desingned the first Faroese Flag, Merkið, in 1919 and the orginal now hangs in the church. | | | | Categories
